Sunday 1 October 2023:

All the closure notices seem to have disappeared from ParksVic website for:

The water level in the Goulburn River is falling again after the environmental flow releases from Eildon dam in September.

It appears the local riverside National and State Parks are open again. Although I haven’t confirmed this, they might be just updating their warnings for the new month.

I don’t know what the conditions are like. Now access is possible I will go and have a look around over the next few weeks.

The last 3 months (July-September) have had less than 50% of normal local rainfall. It looks like we are heading into drought and a very hot summer. Riders should plan to carry extra water and to ride in dry, dusty conditions with high temperatures and the potential for fires.
