Preparation

  • Bike: Your bike should be in good working order. Rides include unsealed sections; wide tyres (40mm+) are the most comfortable for dirt and gravel tracks.
  • Riders: Cycling is a risky activity and riding unsealed tracks requires some experience. Please do your own research and risk assessment of the current conditions. Make your own decision about whether the capabilities of your group are up to those conditions.
  • Navigation: There are no signs or route markers anywhere. To avoid getting lost download the maps or gpx files and navigate with your mobile phone.
  • Things to consider packing: Water-bottle, lock, pump, tool-kit, sunscreen, insect repellant, snake-bite-kit, spare tube that matches your bike, and devices for emergency communication.
